To become a hunter, one must go through a series of excruciating trials, and only then may they be granted their hunter’s ID and runic weapon to protect people from the unknown. In their eyes, the only good monster is a dead monster. They usually move in groups to secure the maximum amount of safety during their hunt.
The runic weapon is usually a type of sword, depending
on the region and the hunter’s personal fighting style. They are crafted by the sorcerers for centuries in alliance against witches and
other vermin that might spawn from their curses.
Hunters are separated into 6 classes
Â
Trainees. They haven’t faced a real monster yet and are being carefully mentored by senior hunters.
Â
Newbies who have just slain their first prey and have been granted the title of a “hunter”. They are prohibited from going on missions alone and can only attend a hunt with the permission of their direct supervisor.
Â
Hunters who have successfully gone through their first year of hunting without dying. They are now permitted to take on small cases alone.
Â
Hunters who are now on their third year of hunting without dying. They are granted the right to choose a second runic weapon.
Â
Hunters who are skilled enough to become trainers. They know the hunter’s guide by heart and have no trouble going on missions alone.
Â
The rarest kind, regarded as geniuses. They have polished their skills enough to take on the most dangerous and ferocious beasts of all – demons. Also called Devilhunters.
