Witches, unlike sorcerers, receive their powers by making a deal with a demon and birthing their kin. Contrary to popular belief, men can also become witches, though in much rarer cases, by providing their seed. Due to the nature of their exchange, their soul becomes tainted and are destined to burn in the eternal fires of hell. In the magical world, they are seen as scum of the Earth; that’s why the majority reside within humans. Associations of any kind between sorcerers and witches are seen as sacrilege and can be punished by the sorcerer’s authorities with excommunication or even death.

The main difference regarding spells is that witches perform blood rituals and use curses. Their magic style depends on sacrifices rather than channeling the forces of nature.Â
There is little information on witches written in the hunter’s guide. Throughout the years, to encounter one has become a rarity in part of the joint efforts of sorcerers and hunters alike to exterminate those vile creatures. In the past, there used to be entire covenants; in recent years is most common for a witch to live away from society in secluded areas like forests, reserves, ghost towns, and islands.
